Yesterday was a fun day at a friend's ranch. I broke out the .22 Hornet barrel on my Contender and got to shoot a few rockchucks and prairie dogs. Longest shot was 101 yards on a young pd that would only come out of the hole halfway. I shoot a 10 inch barrel with a 2X Leupold scope. Shots are taken from a kneeling position resting my elbow on one knee. Not as steady as a tripod could be, but I don't like to carry a lot of gear. 35 shots and five misses. For me that's not bad. Had to knock off a little early, since I was there to work on a tractor before haying starts. Any day shooting beats a day at work.
