Browning X-Bolt quandary

Nmmmm... 1:12 is REALLY slow for .223.
I have Browning X-Bolt Pro in .5 PRC with a 1:7 twist are and that is fast!

Really, 1:14 is actually the old standard for an M16. The cartridge was actually built around that twist rate.

You might contact Douglas Premium Barrels to ask if they will re-barrel a Browning , and also check their prices , to have a price to compare with Oregunsmithing .

Actually, for this rifle, I won't have a budget. I don't know why Browning did away with that SSA action, I mean it's a half an inch, but it handles nice easy to carry and great for kiddos.

I reached out to Oregon Gunsmithing to get a quote for rebarreling the rifle.

MG Arms in Houston. Kerry pulled the 300WSM barrel off my X-Bolt and replaced it with 6.5PRC, very accurate. And all the older X-Bolt stocks that I have been around get tacky to the touch.
