Best Bullet for 6 Rem for Long Range Shooting

I've got a 6MM Ackley for varmints
1 in 8 twist 26" Brux
Hornady Brass fire formed with Hornady 105 grain Match HPBT and IMR 4064

Currently using 105 grain RDF's with RL17 at 3300 fps

I think a 6mm has to work long and hard to keep up with a 6.5 x 284. That being said I will be testing out two different 6mm's at long range this year, a 6mm Rem and the 6mm Super X). Of the 6mm's I have shot at 1000 yards so far, I felt on a windy day they got blown around a good bit more than the 6.5 x 284 shooting bullets like the 142 Sierra.

I've been shooting nosler custom competition bullets in a 6br. If your twist is good they will shoot bug holes and arent expensive. I've used 4350 or h380 in 6mm rem with great results as well. The 6mm Remington is such an under rated cartridge. It will do anything and more than the newer 6mm offerings in an accurate rifle.

I been shooting the 6mm for half a century! The 6-284 was, and is the Love of my Life! Smoking Velocity, Flat Shooting, Hard Hitting, and ACCURATE as ANYTHING! I started with the Sierra 85gr HPBT. When the Sierra 107gr HPBT MK hit the scene, I bought 8 twist Match Barrels, and NOTHING I could see was SAFE! Then the 6.5 bullet makes finally got their **** TOGETHER! I built 6.5-284, 8 twist Heavy 1.25" Match barrel, Jewell Trigger, McMillen Benchrest Stock, NightForce glass, and The NEW LOVE of my LIFE, HORNADY 140gr. ELD on top of LAPAU Brass! Don't get any SWEETER in my opinion!
From the .243 to 6-284 to 6PPC to 6BR to 6.5-284. 6mm & 6.5mm Short Actions, easy on the shoulder, HELL on VARMINTS! I LOVE & USE EM ALL! Theosmithjr

I'm getting great results with the 103 grain ELDX and Reloader 22 in my 6mm AI. Consistently groups in the high .2 low.3's

How's the 103 on game performance? Have you shot deer with this bullet? I'm putting together a 6 Dasher and can't decide on a bullet.

I have only killed three deer with the 103 so far. 214 yard behind the shoulder full pass through ran 30 yards. 486 yards through both shoulders DRT bullet was lodged under the skin offside.
676 yards quartering hard toward me was a little off on my wind. Bullet took out about 9 inches of spine and back strap lodged in far hip under the skin. I will be loading the 103 again this fall.

I have been shooting 308 and I have got it down to three shots in one hole at 100 yd. Now my friends have changed to 6 mm CM so I have gotten out my old 6 mm Rem to shoot with them. I have always used Sie 85 gr. HPBT with this rifle and it has worked great in 100 yd. shooting. We have extended the range to 500 yd. and my friends have changed to heavy bullets over 100 gr. I don't want to be left out or buy up a lot of bullets I want use. The question is, has anyone got any idea or have used the 6 mm Rem for 500 yd. or farther, and if so what bullet and powder worked best?
500 yards isn't that far and you'll could do fine with your current load. But if you stretch out to 1000 yards then the heavier bullets will perform better. I don't have 6mm but if I did I'd try a 108gr ELDM to start. but any of the heavies that shot accurately in your rifle will do.
