Berger 308 245 Longe Range Hybrids

Agreed...a .308 trying to shoot 245 seems to me to be alot like a fellow using a MANHOLE cover in a Frisbee contest! Just me!

Y'all do realize that that the 300 PRC, 30SM, 300WM, 300WSM and many others shoot 308 bullets right? I could be mistaken but the OP didn't specify 308 Win rifle, nor do I think thats what was intended.

I'm not real big on the 308 round. Nothing wrong with berger 30 cal bullets. I use berger almost exclusively just in other calibers.

I'm with Cody on this one.

I may do the same with my 20 incher...a 245 at 2200 FPS is still a 425 yard rifle with a good bit of thump.

Although with the 215 the torque is hard to keep it shooting well... If they were on the shelves I may do it just to say I did. Launching Volkswagons out of 308s is fun...

Love the bergers not much on 308 though. Much better calibers out there for long range.

That may well be the best LR .308 caliber bullet to date for ELR shooting with 30 caliber rifles. Sure the 338 and bigger caliber/cartridges offer better wind bucking characteristics but not really sure which other bullet (caliber or cartridge ) under that 308/245 Berger could be a better LR bullet but what do I know.

Not sure anything was in the OPs original post about a 308 cartridge being used to shoot this 245. I think the 308 terminology was to address the caliber, not cartridge. Unless I failed to read all the posts or missed one. I took the "not much on the 308" in post #5 to be the caliber

This isn't a .308 win bullet unless doing some weird stuff. This is for big 30s that will out perform most small cartridges. Such as a 300 terminator, 300 lapua, 300 prc, 300 Norma

Awesome, I'm already throated for it, the 215's are barely seated in the neck with a .010 jamb.
