I'm having a 300 PRC built. I really want to go 1:8 twist for the heavy 245's, but I'm worried it won't shoot the 215's then.
Anyone know if there's an issue with the twist or if it's gonna try to spin the 215's too fast?

Different cartridge and twist, but similar scenario. I have a .308 Norma Magnum with a 1-9 twist. I typically shoot 215 Hybrids in it, but have shot as light as 180gr bullets in it without issues. I wouldn't be worried about it.

Why wouldn't a 1-8 twist shoot 215s? They shoot great out of my 1-8 twist 300 prc.
I just didn't know if it would or not. I had a few people tell me that they're 300 PRC's with the 8 twist didn't shoot their 215's. So instead of just going off their advice I figured I'd ask around.

What length of barrel you have ? I'm running 22'' wondering if I can build up enough speed to push the 245's

I have a buddy who built a 1:8" 30 SM (300PRC Imp 40°). It does not like the 215s. The 230s shoot good and 245 shoot great.
But that could just be that individual rifle.

My 300PRC is a 1:9". Shoots the 200.20x, 215 Hyb, and 230 Hyb extremely well.
