Can anyone help with BC on the 175 ELDX with a MV of 2800fps from an 8 twist barrel? I know the BC changes based on MV and twist.
Hornady lists the G1 at .689 and G7 at .347. I figured it would be lower than that.Applied ballistic numbers:
G1 .700
G7 .358
I could be wrong but I don't think there is a way to calculate a trued bc to your load without more info.
But like I said I could be wrong.
(What I use for my bc is .347 in my 28 nosler 1-8 twist 3125 MV)
I started with the applied ballistics library numbers with the G7 of .358 but after trueing with my known MV from the labradar it came out to be .347 funny enough happened to be hornadys claimed G7Hornady lists the G1 at .689 and G7 at .347. I figured it would be lower than that.
Try Hornady's site. I think the edlx and edlm are based on 400 yard bc's. At 2800 muzzle haow far are you looking to shoot?
I have always just used the Hornady ballistic calculator.I started with the applied ballistics library numbers with the G7 of .358 but after trueing with my known MV from the labradar it came out to be .347 funny enough happened to be hornadys claimed G7
I will admit I'm not a guru in this stuff but what I've been doing works for me
What ballistic solver do you use?
I see g1 and g7, but not degrading bc's when velocity is less.Actually, Hornady does the same thing:
Hornady BC's
Each bullet has a g1 and g7 for Mach 2.25, Mach 2, and Mach 1.75.I see g1 and g7, but not degrading bc's when velocity is less.
Might try out istrelokI have always just used the Hornady ballistic calculator.
