Got some 3006 ammo I know is sst
But don't know what the grain is they were a yard sale find soooo
Need suggestions on how do I find out if they are 150-165-180 ect thanks for any help

Some advice, please don't take this the wrong way...

Never buy ammo or components that are not traceable to someone who can answer your question.

If purchasing ammo from an estate and the stuff isn't very well labeled and traceable to someone you knew first hand, assume you bought it to knock it down.

Do you know why we destroy captured ammo?

Because it is common to booby trap ammo you leave where the enemy or thieves will sabotage themselves.

I know ammo is super expensive and coming across a find is nice, but if you can't, at the very least, guarantee it is factory ammo then the risk is simply not worth it. Even without meaning to, someone could have dropped the incorrect charge or used the incorrect powder. Perhaps the reason they were sitting around was because someone intended to break them down after they realized their mistake and never got around to it.

I know it's tempting, but I wouldn't.

You can disassemble the rounds and keep the shells and projectile then reload with loads you are sure of
