Recently picked up a barreled action from an estate. The only markings on it are AGC 021. IF anyone has any knowledge regarding this action, who the maker is, I would greatly appreciate it. Someone mentioned that they believed it was a Mauser action, that's all I know.

I read your same post over on Accurate Shooter. My suggestion is still the same:

We would greatly appreciate some good pictures of this action so we can help with the identification.

Thanks!

It took me awhile but I was finally able to get a pic. I have two of these, the other one is
"OGC 039".

Of the whole action, not just the serial number or whatever that marking actually is

Top, bottom and both sides will guarantee someone will be able to identify it.

Just as Darryle states:

We need to see both sides, top and bottom to attempt to identify your action. Serial number is no help for this.

Thanks!

Looks like an old Herters action produced by BSA in the '60s-70s. Not sure it is but very similar. You used to get barreled actions for like $120.00

Took off the stock; on the bottom of the action it's stamped, "Cole Harps, ME". Hope that helps.

Your action has some familiar design features but I'm not all together sure that it's a Herters. I'll post pictures when I get the rifle out for comparison. There might be some photos online, I'll check.

I lightened the pictures in order to see more details hidden by the contrast and deep black. I know it's not a fair representation of the actual action but it helps to see some of the details in the shadows.

:)
