Have a new 6.5 PRC Bergara Stoke. Essentially a ladies model. Has around 90 -110 rounds down the tube now. I've ran tons of factory rifles in the past. Some have shot excellent with anything you throw at them. Some not so great. But this thing is on a different level as far as not being so great.
I recently removed the stock just to look inside. It's about as flimsy as you can get. Quite honestly the worst stock I've probably put my hands on.
I've ran factory 143 and 147 ELDX and ELDM through it. Factory loaded Bergers and a few others. I've reloaded multiple times for it. At least six or seven different load and powder configurations. I've swapped Seekins rings to Arc, back to NF, back to Badgers etc. 2 different NF NX8's, S&B Exos, Leica Amplus etc. and no matter what, at 100 yards it shoots no less than a 6 inch group.
This is without question, the worst factory rifle I've ever shot as far as accuracy.
Is it even worth putting a new stock on it? So I guess that's my question. Can a stock make that big of a difference?
I've had rifles not shoot that great and hold a 3 inch group at 100 yards and have been able to get them down to less than an inch. This thing is just horrendous. So could it all be on the stock or are we beyond help here?
