Absolute Hammer load data

I just resized and primed the leaky case and there may have been a very, very slight loosening of the pocket. Maybe. Most likely not. It's tough to tell, but it definitely wasn't trashed. I'm the second owner of the cases, some were less tight rom the start.

Either way after looking at the brass again I'm calling it, going to load for 3400. That's what my gut is telling me, and it's what my goal was. I matched Steve's 280ai/h100v results with low volume brass and temp stable powder, and I think I remember him saying somewhere that was a barnburner for the 280. Open to correction.

If someone wants to send me some RP and nosler Saum brass and some bolt head component springs I'll happily put it back on the data grill.

I notice in looking at the data that it's for Absolute Hammers only yet the second column is titled Hammer Hunter Bullet. Since Hammer Hunters are different bullets shouldn't the column heading read Absolute Hammer Bullet?

There's more experienced guys all over this site than me but I'm pretty sure that if a primer leaves a case with leas than normal decapping force than the case is unsafe and dead as a smelt. Even if that isn't strictly the case If the primer falls out of an expanded pocket then a new, smaller primer won't stay in it. Brass in a case head won't spring back smaller. If I was defending the motherland from zombie hordes I might scotch tape it back in and tape a National Geographic over my face but short of that… nope.
 
Awhile back I had a old loaded round that had a neck split. I pulled the bullet and the powder was damp and clumpy. See pic.

I'll likely do the same with this one since it's about 20 years old and has been without a primer for an unknown amount of time. Not worth the possible bad results to shoot it.

Couple Updates.

For science I took out H4831SC with my 270 1-7 twist to see where it fell. It seemed to fall nicely in line with most other powders. Seemed to give more reliable pressure indicators compared to powders in the H4350 range. RL26 also gave reliable pressure signs in my previous testing

This gun LOVED the 69 AH's All the above shot ~0.8" at 100. With better brass I would assume it would be feasible to settle in around 3800. For this gun and brass I'll probably set up a quick group at 44.0 and make sure the group holds up.

All good stuff, was fun to get out and throw some more copper down range!

In the vanilla 22-250 with the 51 it seems to favor the 4064-3031 burn range. The bullets stabilized well in my 1-12 twist, accuracy during the ladders was under 3/4 inch at worst.
 
That's smoking for a 22-250. I have not tried that bullet in my 1:12
22-250AI because of the recommended twist rate of 1:9.75.
I wasn't going to try it either but after talking to Dallas hardaway he said they would sabalize if I kept the velocity up. On paper they stabilized fine, I haven't tried on game yet.

Good to know. I've shot out three 22-250 barrels using 52 grain SMKs and have a soft spot for that weight. I'm currently having a blast with the 35 and 44 grain HH running 4,864 and 4,413 fps, respectively. The local groundhog population is getting a wee bit skittish.

I'm amazed and pleased it shoots well. The 51 calls for a 1-9ish twist!
