Absolute Hammer load data

Do you get swipe without firing? I do on a few rifles.

Test by chambering and then unloading without firing it. I get swipe on virgin cases on some. I think this is from a short chamber, tight ejector spring, un-polished ejector pin, yada, yada....
Never checked, I will.

Merry Christmas! Made it to the range yesterday and here are my findings:

Savage Ultralite w/Proof Research 22" barrel
280 Ackley Improved
140 Absolute Hammer
Nosler brass, fired once/twice?
Fed 210M primer
Win 6.5 Staball
3.36 COAL
Normal neck tension, no crimp
58g 3037fps
59g 3098fps
60g error
61g error
62g 3263fps
63g 3284fps
64g 3318fps
65g 3419fps

No real pressure signs on brass until 65, where a swipe appears and the bolt was sticky. I might back down to 64 and do a light crimp. I've got another smaller "batch" using IMR4166 that I'll try out next time. I had to quit as my scope moved a bit in the rings. Not good.

Can anybody teach me how to access the load data on an iPhone
I hit the request to download it and it doesn't show up
Thanks

I'd say you're right on the edge of pressure. I hit pressure a little higher than that (approx 3450 fps) using HV100 in a 24" barrel. You'll probably end up between 64 & 65 gr for your final load.

Final Evaluation- Bullet length major limiting factor for 6.5 Grendel case. Still impressive hunting numbers up to 400 yards but I believe 97 or 109 Absolute Hunter should get better performance.

Revisited the range with loads for the 140 AH in 280 Ackley. Based on my previous range data, I focused on three powder weights for Win 6.5 Staball:
63.5, 64.0, 64.5
3.36 COAL
Lee FCD 1/4 turn crimp
All shots at 100 yards, temps in upper 70's.

63.5g produced 3347, 3337, 3336, 3294, 3306 fps; and a 1.5" group

64.0g produced 3339, 3337, 3339, 3331, 3338 fps; and a 0.5" group

64.5g produced 3416, 3399, 3402, 3384? fps and a 1.0" group.

I'm pretty sure I've got my winner.

I built a Grendel SBR that I use for deer, hogs and coyote. It has the 11 inch AA barrel with 7 inch YHM suppressor nested in the Aero Precision handguard with a MagPul PRS stock. Love this gun, under 1 MOA and relatively light for what it is, short for a suppressed, rig very versatile.

I did some load development with 97 Absolute Hammers (chasing velocity since I hunt under 100 yards most of the time) and with using Power Pro Varmint at 31 grains of powder with a 2.260 seating depth I am able to get 2493 fps with no pressure signs with a SD of 3.8 on a 10 shot group.... it was a .1.02 MOA 10 shot group. Just wanted to add in case someone wanted to add to the data, I don't see any 97gr AH in the data, just 109

I'm running a ladder test on one of my 6.5prcs with the 109 gr absolute with H4350 the results are as follows not the vel that I want yet the next powder too try will be N560 hopefully today accuracy wise no issue ,here's what I have 6.5 prc 26 in proof 1-8 twist Curtis Axiom action 60 degree bolt throw 3 lug H4350 ,cci250 109 gr absolute oal 2.850 .004 tension with a lee crimp 52 grs 3183 ,54 grs 3296 55 grs 3318 56 grs 3359fps 57grs 3467fps 58grs 3509 fps . I started getting a little bolt lift at 57 and 58 grs so stoped there and checked primer pockets etc all is fine but I think I should get at least 3600 plus out of this bullet so that's what I'm working on with N560 ,I think H4350 might be a little too fast any suggestions welcomed I've all ready accomplished 3452 with the123 gr absolutes this is really a lot of fun making these bullets fly

I got 3370 fps using the 123 AH with N560 and a 24" barrel.

I worked up too 3467fps with N165 cci250 63.5 compressed load with a 26 in proof I think I can make it too 3500 fps with 123 gr and 3600 plus with the 109 with all this experimenting ,so far the most I've been impressed with how easy it was too get the 25-284 with a 90 gr over 3800 fps I've been spoiled, now thats my new normal , been bit by the vel bug my highest. vel was 3874 fps with r19 . All this isn't necessary but it show is fun

I'm a bit late to the Absolute Hammer party but getting geared up to smash !

Got me a box of the 7mm 130 gr Absolute Hammers recently for my Rem 700 in 7mm-08, got a couple die set up/ bullet seating depth dummy cartridges loaded up in Lapua brass, fl sized & trimmed to 2.025", dies set up to load the 130 Absolutes to the standard 2.80" coal for initial load development ...

Haven't yet read all of the 85 pages of this awesome Hammer thread (I will) and wondering if someone has messed with the 130 Absolutes in the 7mm-08 ?

I have all the current bullet mfr reloading manuals along with a bookcase full of all previous issues and from checking out the powders that work best, I have determined that I have all the usual powders needed on hand and ready to load, got a bunch of Fed 210 & Win WLR primers as well

Just wondering what has worked for those who have messed with the 130 gr Absolutes and what's the trick in loading them for "absolute" velocity with accuracy ?

Will share all my findings once I get there ...

Thanks guys

Have you looked at the absolute hammer loading site if you don't find any thing their I'm sure Steve at Hammer bullets will steer you in the right direction for load development .I'm sure someone that has loaded that bullet will chime in.
