H4350 (also have h1000 but I assume that's too slow)
Hammer 143s

Anybody shooting a similar setup? Looking for a starting load, pet load, max load, etc. I'll do my own load work up but curious where everyone else started and ended. This will be a moose/elk round. Thanks!

I'm shooting 145gr Badlands Bulldozers over RL26 and Gunwerks brass. I'll have to check my load book when I get home to see where I ended up.

I believe he's asking about the 143 HH. Do not use absolute load data with a hammer hunter. There is also a hammer hunter load data spread sheet.

In my 7WSM, which has similar case capacity, both RE23 and RE26 produced good velocity and accuracy with the 143HH bullets.

Based on what I saw in a couple 7 mags I think you'll do well with 4350.

I think the book listed max was around 59gr for 140 class bullets. I started to feel slight resistance in bolt lift at 65gr. Stopped at 66gr. 24" barrels were seeing around 3350fps.

I think you should look at book data for 140s in a SAUM, start at or near the top, work up and find pressure, then back down a touch off max and look for accuracy. They were pretty easy to work with for me.

Dunno. It came from Oregon mountain rifles. The barrel is a shooter, the gunsmith isn't much of a gunsmith though.

Looked at my notes and I'm at 63.5gr of RL26
