7mmx300Win @ 1765 yards

Yep...same case !!! I just build a 338 on the rum case. I was asking if someone out there had a 7mmrum that was drive the 175...180 bullets to the max.
My 338rum with 225grs bullets and 99 grs of returbo @ 3170. 26" barrel.
Ive shot 7mmrem for years over max...to std. 175 gr at 2875..2900 26" tube.

So to my point if you take 99 grs of returbo a 175-180 pill how **** fast will it out the muzzle..3400 ??? 3500 ???

gun)That's fast !!!

Cutting Edge pills....would be a bad *** 7mm...for a long ways

I would imagine that you would run into pressure well before you ran out of case capacity, which would leave you shorter on velocity then you might think

Agreed, I don't think there's a slow enough high energy powder to take advantage of 100-110gr behind a 7mm 180. Maybe the Hornady 162s, though. RL-33 might be about right. But talk about short barrel life!

175 GR. SFT SP Hodgdon Retumbo .284" 3.600" 86.0 2919 57,300 PSI 91.5 3069 63,400 PSI

that's right off of hodgen's site, it appears that they agree with us.

kirbys 7-338 lap imp aka 7mm Allen Mag gets 3300 with a 200gr but he dosnt show any 180gr data on his website. I would guess a guy might get 3400 from a 180 that way.

i'm running 80 gr of RL33 and getting 3150fps. if I could seat them slightly further out 82gr would get me 3200 as I have loaded up to that but case life would be too short .

7/375 Ruger is a cool idea. Gunwerks has one I looked at before drawing up my 7mm Valkyrie. They call it the 7mm Long Range Magnum. It has a super-long neck (maybe .350"), the main benefit of which appears to be improved throat life. Water capacity is in the 85 gr range, just a little less than a 7-300WM.

Valkyrie ??? what case is that on ???

You boys ever done business Tommy Shirley ??? Great guy. I have 2 of this # 11 thumbhole stock. Love them.
