So I am getting a gift card from BPI due to the Paramont muzzleloader recall and I'm looking at getting a new rifle. I decided on the model Bergara B14 Sierra and between a 6.5prc and 7prc. I do have every other cartridge they offer in the line up, so there's not a "need" to it. Most closely I have a 6.5 Creedmoor, 280AI and 7mm Rem mag. what should I go with? I built my 7Rem mag for heavy bullets on a 1-8 twist, and I have a lot of 6.5PRC once fired brass.... What say you

I've got a 6.5 and 7 PRC. If I had to give one up it's the 6.5. The 7 does all the 6.5 does…and then some. Really likes the 180 hybrids
With more recoil and more cost per shot.

I would go 6.5PRC. Enough for elk, plenty for anything smaller. Keep the 6.5CM for banging steel.

You already have a 7RM with a 1:8". The 7PRC would be a duplicate. Plus, if you have a 7RM w. 1:8", it is probably a rebarrel. No use getting a factory rifle to do the same thing, and more than like not any better.

Both my 280AI and 7RM are full custom builds, this will be my first factory rifle in awhile.

I have both rifles, and the 6.5 PRC that I bought was way more particular than the 7mm, but folks have already said it you have a 7RM, and it's basically a duplicate. I did get the 6.5 shooting accurately, but with the short barrel I didn't get the velo I was looking for. I bought a Tikka in 6.5, and it is one heck of a rifle. Right at 3000 fps with the 140's, haven't tried the 156's yet.

No one can answer this usefully without knowing it's intended purpose? Is it going to be a safe queen to admire, a 300 yd or 2000 yd rifle, a varmint, deer or elephant rifle, a mountain or a food plot blind rifle, a target or competition rifle???

It will mainly be a sub 500yard whitetail rifle.
