Just got a 6.5/06 rig to mess with. It's a gain twist setup for 150s but I am wanting to run hybrid 140s since I have quiet a few hundred I need to use. What powder and speeds are u guys seeing. Any help would be appreciated.

I've had the best luck with H4831sc and slower powders with 140g and heavier in 6.5/06. If all you have is H1000, it will suffice. H4350, though an excellent 6.5 Creedmoor powder is just a bit too fast, IMO, for 6.5/06. The case fill ratio is just not high enough to yield suitable SD. You will find best case fill and performance, with 140g and heavier bullets, with powders such as retumbo, Norma 217, IMR 8311, and R-26. I have not personally tested R-26 yet as it has been difficult to secure for a bit now. I have seen reports here and other places of folks using even slower powders with very good results. With those powders you will want to have a plenty long barrel to take advantage of those kingsford range burn rates.

H1000 will work great. The 6.5-06 is very similar to the 6.5x284 and H1000 is a popular powder in that cartridge. You should be able to safely get 2950-3000 with 140 Hybrids.

I have 50 years of experience with the 6.5/06 and yes h-1000 is great so is reloader25-26 and I have very good luck with IMR 7828 with the heaver bullets. and for the 100 grain grain bullets I uses 760 -414 and try to keep the veocity under 3300 fps.. I believe with a 140 with the 7828 I am getting 3020 and 3060 with the 130 grain bullet out of a 25"bbl. a great powder guide is to look at the 25/06 data because of the very close case capacity and the bore dia. is on .06 difference

Stiller with 30" gain twist Bart barrel in a krg bravo! Pretty simple rig. Running 338 lapua mags and tbac ultra 9, uso Er-25

My 26" Douglas-barreled FN Mauser absolutely loved Re-22 with 140-grain speer spitzers. Still kicking myself for taking that gun apart.
