I finally got a chance to do a little testing with the 124H bullet in my .308Win (22" bbl) with TAC. The TAC loads easily fit beneath the bullet without compression and only filled the case to about mid-shoulder.

I used .308 Lapua cases (3x fired) and Fed215M primers. I used a FCD to crimp all of the loads. Loads were shot at 200yds and chronographed using a Labradar. Winds were calm.

Here is what I got by firing 2 bullets at each load. Velocity inconsistency was apparent at many charge weights. (Just for a comparison - I shot 5 130 TTSX bullets with Benchmark and they all fell between 3,144-3,155 ft/sec.)

46.5 TAC - 3,116 & 3,055 - grp .18"
46.8 - 3,089 & 3,043 - grp 1.17"
47.1 - 3,134 & 3,133 - grp .77"
47.4 - 3,156 & 3,139 - grp .59"
47.7 - 3,124 & 3,178 - grp 1.02"
48.0 - 3,149 & 3,200 - grp 2.31"
48.3 - 3,148 & 3,142 - grp 2.17"
48.6 - 3,151 & 3.178 - grp 1.98"

I never did reach the 3,200 ft/sec that I was looking for. However, there was no indication of pressure at any load. I'll try again starting at the 48.6 TAC load and move up. Lighter loads shot much better but, hopefully, groups will shrink back as charge weights get elevated.
