My google-fu is apparently weak. I am trying to find some load data for the Berger 185VLDs in 308 Win (AR10).

I have found data for 168 and 175s but nothing for these, none of my manuals have the data either.

Powders I have:
2000-MR
RL-17
Varget
Ram Tac
Benchmark

When I was competing with the M1A, I shot a lot of the Berger 185VLDs at 600 - 1,000 yards. My load was 41 grains of 2520 powder, WLR, in LC Match brass. The Bergers were seated long to minimize jump and they were single loaded. This was very accurate in my rifle, but please don't assume that it will be good or safe in yours. Start 10% lower and work up.

I see load data on Nosler and Hodgdon website with other 185-190gr bullets with Varget starting around 39-40gr and working up to max around 43-44gr.

Start with a lower load and work it up to find the pressure and a node. Then tune it.

I ladderes some Ram Tac today, due to the cloud cover I could not get any chrono readings but still got useful info.
The max load was 43.6 but I got nowhere close to it. I had some pretty fearsome ejector swipes and mild cratering at 43.0 grains but the accuracy was excellent at .65
I am going to drop down a full grain and see if I can hit another node between 42 and 43

My double lug shot 47.9 2000 MR. 185 Jugs, but used the same load with VLD. COL-2.93. In service rifle prone matches it is single load only by rulebook.

I was doing 0.4 grain iron sight short ladder at 200 yards before I verified the flat vertical area at 600 yards. Since I was loading in the stat house, when the 47.7 and 48.1 were the only two sort on a flat vertical, I quickly loaded 47.9, it landed in the same area. I took that as a potential node. I got the velocities doing work at 200, did not set up the Oehler at 600.

At 600, I shot 47.7, 47.9, and 48.1 for a group. They grouped nicely. I settled on 47.9. Work was all with irons. I bought just about every scope mount, including former GIs, and a special order Ti Sadlak. Using heavy NXS none of them would hold.

With the load I won a few service rifle prone matches at 600 and 1000.
