308 in Long action....

I am building another rig based on a savage/steven action and have found a long action savage. My question is will a 308 work in the long action with out problems? Problems such as cycling from the magazine or poping out?

It should work fine. i have a 223 in a 110 action and i think they made a 308 in a 110 action back then as well. you just have to change out the mag box and spring. check over at savage shooters.com are with Fred at Sharp Shooter Supply - The Savage Specialists I know he can tell you what you need and will probably have it as well.

Yep, until real recently all Savages were long action. 308 will work fine.

Thanks, I will be getting me a long action savage in a couple of days since it has been confirmed that the 308 will work in the long action. This opens up so many more option for a later date. Thanks for the replies.
