Picked up some 180gn Berger Elite Hunters for my brothers 26" 1:10 300wm. Trying to work up a load for him using a bullet that seems readily available in our area. 180gn Berger EH seem to be the ticket.

Anyone running these successfully. Will be used on Elk / Deer and some LR target stuff on occasion. We do have some 4831sc, H4350, H1K and 7828ssc to use.

Any ideas? Appreciate the help guys .

Howdy, I have pictures of 175 and 185, from Berger Manual. H-1000 will be your friend, I use it for 185 Juggernaut out of my Winny. 👍

I run 75.3 grains of Vihtauvori N160 with a coal of 3.36 with great results. I do however have a 24" 1-10 tw barrel. Thing I like about Vihtauvori over IMR and alliant is that no matter what the weather it seems to be a very consistent powder. I've had good luck with Hodgdon too. Never had luck with h1000 in any of my win mags. Retumbo works great on 200+ grain though! Viht burns clean too!

Thanks man! It's a load for my brothers 300wm and I happen to have an unopened 8lb jug of Magpro and quite a bit of 7828ssc l may tldonate to his cause.

Magpro seems to be getting some good numbers

I don't know about extreme hunter, but Berger does have load data on their elite hunter 180gr for 300wm on their site. Go to resources, then load data, select elite hunter, then 300wm and data will appear.

75gr H4831sc
Norma case
CCI 250
COAL 3.335" to feed from a Ruger mag box.
About MOA, never chronoed because it was just meh.

Loaded to 76.5gr and about .020" off the lands and it shot alot better, but I don't single feed. If it don't roll out the mag it don't go to da woods...

I appreciate it Shane. Yeah I'm with you there. Gotta fit in the mag for a hunting rifle.

I don't have info on the 180s but using ADG brass, 215m primers, and a 185gr hybrid im at 79.5gr of H1000 seated to 3.500" COAL. This gets me to 3220fps in a 26" 8 twist barrel. Think I have a fast barrel though.

That's a nice list of powders. In addition to what has been provided to you, you can also contact Berger's Tech Support. If you can get them, the 215 are awesome. If you go the 215 route, here's a baseline for you courtesy of Berger Tech Support (they might have a newer one, though). Good luck!
