Need help, I know there are some badass loaders here and experimenting fellas. I got a 26" Bartlien bbl on a mont rifle action. I would like some real world experince on powder choices with the 190 ABLR. Thanks a lot!

I'm sorry, I'm not clear on what you are asking. Do have a Montana action, with a 26 inch Bartlien barrel and its chambered in 300 Weatherby Mag???? Am I close?? If so I have just a few questions for you. 1. Are you building a Hunting rifle for Elk / Bear ? What twist is the barrel? Was some amount of free bore added, like Weatherby does in their factory barrels.?? Just a bit more information would be helpful, please. You have chosen excellent components!!

I'm thinking that the OP is asking for the best powder to use loading 190gr ABLRs in his 26 inch Barlien barreled rifle?????????????

Reloader 15, try 64 grains with ur 200gr Accubond, in the 340 Weatherby. Couldn't find the 190r Accubond in 340 Weatherby for ya. If it's in the 300 Weatherby, 190gr Accubond, try H-1000 powder 84 to 88grains.

Okay, I don't have my 300 Bee. anymore, it was a Mark V Accumark with .361 freebore, 26". In that bullet weight Rl-25 and Retumbo gave me the best speed, but N-165 gave me the best accuracy. Using WLRM primers. Please be careful with given loads from someone else in a
Freebore rifle. The more freebore, the more powder you can get away with. Less freebore will max out quicker. If I knew more about the rifle I think I could help you more.

Where did you get that freebore number from?
Freebore on a modern reamer is .376" from Weatherby. This is todays generic freebore length.
Before being put into CIP spec, freebore ran .500" (300, 340, 375) .750" ( 378 ) 1.00" 460. The 416 ran .376 and .750 for a short time.
There were .376 for the 3 short mags, 257, 270 & 7mm. 240 doesn't have freebore.

Cheers.
