Hello all,
Figure I would pick your brains a little as I want to rebarrel my current setup to save some weight and also shoot the heavies. Currently it wears a 10" twist pac-nor and finishes at 1" at the muzzle 28" long. With bipod it is at 17lbs and will be going with a carbon six barrel but need help with the twist rate and length.

I was thinking of keeping it at 28" as it will be living with a 5" banish backcountry on it but I am torn between 8" or 9" twist rates. Would like to throw the 230 hybrids and also cutting edge and hammer monolithic as well. Any help would be appreciated.

1 in 9 twist spins the 245 Bergers to perfection…

There have been ALOT of Proof Carbon Fiber barrels on sale lately…Didn't Piercision Rifles have a few?

Unless your are going longer and heavier than the 245 Bergers… 1 in 9 twist is the fastest I would ever go in a 300 RUM
