I need some help interpreting results. Trying to figure out what charge to start working on seating depth with the 225's and 215's.

I screwed up a bit on the 225's. I thought I had had more loads of my initial charge weight and adjusted my scope after firing that first group, so I can't really tell where they were hitting in relation to the others. I was thinking of going with 75.3.

For the 215's, I was thinking of 76.8. I am trying to keep good brass life as it gets super hot down here in Texas. Thanks in advance.

Just did similar to what you did with 215 Bergers. from 76.5-77.5.
I loaded a few more up at 76.5gr to test velocity.

Great, I am glad to hear you are in the same ballpark. I think the Berger's will shoot great once I tinker with the depth. None of the above groups were over 3/4". In my book that's not good enough. I know they will shoot sub 1/2".

I basically use the Hornady tool to tell me what max length is where I can't go any further and then I back off .030". It's essentially what Cortina talks about doing with jam. Now I plan on working back in .002" increments.

I had some of the factory I was using when I first got the barrel.

I just went with the same length as those. Shot small, so will use that to see how it does.

For the 215s, looks like they are all "2 in, 1 out" groups. I like the 76.8gr group for the pure horizontal dispersion. That being said, unless you are running a short barrel, you are leaving a lot of speed on the table with H1000.

For the 225s, even though 75.3 is a slightly better group, I would play with 75.9 for seating depth for the same reason. You can always drop back to 75.3 if seating depth doesn't cut the horizontal down. Again, I think you are leaving a lot on the table unless you have a short barrel.

With 215s and H1000, I was up near 3000 in my 26".
I ended up with 230 Hybs and N570 running 2996fps for my final load. But mine is strictly an elk rifle. I am in AZ, so I know hot.

You have a flier in every group, I suspect the barrel isn't seasoned yet.

What make of brass? My load with 225's is 2 full grains of H1000 higher than your top end and I'm on firing #12 with ADG. Accuracy is .15". Even with high temps I bet you have some room to go up, did you hit any pressure signs at all?

These were the first few rounds down the barrel. Probably like 20 rounds in. I am using Lapua brass. I didn't see any pressure signs. It is a 28" barrel, so I would think it could get some decent speeds if I wanted to try and go higher.

Mine is 28" as well. I'm at 2960 fps.

Encouraging that there is almost no POI shift in either bullet over the charge weights.

Got a chance to go back out with the 215's. Amazing what a little seating tuning can do. I think it's going to shoot. I was fighting the 100 degree temps and mirage but still managed to get some good data.

I thought I would provide another update for anyone maybe trying something similar. I am very pleased with the rifle considering the "reasonable" price of the MPA.

I fired one fouler followed by a 3 shot group at 100 to confirm speed and impact. You can see the results. It's shooting pretty well.

I then took it to 700 yards because I was pressed for time and the 700 yard target is next to my camp house. The dope wasn't too bad, but I did have to adjust after the first shot and then fired a 3 shoot group. All in all I am very happy with the rifle.
