3 deer killed with 300 Norma Magnum

I hear you! A basic backpack with scabbard and an alpine/climbing harmess would be nice. There are certainly quality backpacks out there which weighs in at half the weight and can carry more, but none has the scabbard. The Eberlestock lid is an embodiment of unneccessary features, I have daypacks weighing the same as that lid.
Roe, you might want to give these a look. Great little day/shooter's pack.

The rifle rides between the two humps on the sides and you don't even have to dismount it in order to fire when a quick shot is necessary.

I have an Atec Optima and the overall weight should be right around 6,5 kgs or roughly 12 lbs. The rifle is a nightmare to shoot without the silencer, perfectly managable and not unpleasant with the silencer.
Would a timed muzzle brake tame the recoil enough in a 9-11 pound rifle to where it's comfortable to shoot? I'm looking at 300NM, 30 Nosler, and 300 PRC. Really leaning toward the 300 NM
