I have new nosler brass that I am planning to skim neck turn. If I turn to .0135 it only cleans up about half of the neck on the worst ones. It does not clean any more than 80%. .0135 should give me a clearance of .005.
question, is it ok? Or better to turn it down more and have .006 clearance?
thanks

Using Nosler brass for my son's 280 a.i., I ran into the same thing. I turned 12 cases to .0135" and 12 to .013". They shot similar groups @ 400 yds, both about 3/4 moa.

I prefer to keep total clearance to .004", but in this case I ended up turning them all to .013", as he is using a bushing die to size necks and liked the lowered ES.

If you're using a mandrel to size necks, the .0135" turn would be my choice.
I shoot a straight .280 with Norma brass that is just skimmed about 60-70%. I use a .282 mandrel to set neck and it shoots in .1s pretty consistently.
