It stout but not not as much as much as a RUM, of course. Not as sharp as the 30-06 based designs but definitely stouter than the sorter belted magnums. How does the recoil on the 28 compare to the 280 and 7 Mag?
A little more than the 7RM, a little less than the 7mm STW. Very manageable for anyone used to shooting magnum cartridges. How does the recoil on the 28 compare to the 280 and 7 Mag?
It should have greatly improved barrel life of the 7mm Ultra not to mention far less recoil. What's the purpose of it? The STW and the 7mm Ultra Mag have everything covered. I personally think the Ultra Mag with the newer 195 gr bullets are going to be impossible to beat. Less case capacity of the Ultra. I still do not understand the purpose.
The 284 verson of this is what they should have made. The 26 is gone after 500 rds. And people necking this up to 30 I just can't understand with the 300 ultra besting it in all categories . The 338 nosler seems even more redundant then any of the other "wildcat" versions of it. They should have just made a 284 nosler and hit a home run.

Considering the case volume difference between the 300 RUM and 30 Nosler it shouldn't be much of a surprise to anyone that the Rum has higher velocity. The 284 verson of this is what they should have made. That's pretty much the case with almost every new sporting round developed since about 1970.I see what you are saying and have to agree. Like you said there is nothing that is not already covered. A little less than the rum and stw so then you have the rem mag, or the 7mm dakota, or even the wby mag, so I along with elk hunter am not seeing what hole this is filling. Other than nosler developing it for monetary purposes and another way to sell a rifle that is already chambered in the round.
