.277 hammer info needed

I would like to give some hammer bullets a try, but I'm not exactly sure where to start, so I'm looking for recommendations for which hammer and which powder to use.

What I am working with:
-Kimber 84L 1:10 twist
-Maximum range 300yd
-Whitetail, Hogs and hopefully someday Aoudad
-powder on hand: H380, H4895, I4895, H335, H322, RL7, I4198

If needed, I'll buy some powder, but I was hoping that something I already have would be a good choice. I don't want to use up a lot of components making something marginal work, I'd rather start with the right components from the start.

So what combination would have the best chance at being successful?

I am running the 117 grain HH and it has been very effective on a couple of bigger deer. There is Hammer load data you can find on this site that will give you data for several different hammer bullets. I am running Super Performance powder in W-W cases and Federal 210 Primers. That is getting me 3405 FPS from a 24" barreled Mark V ULW. I do use a light crimp with the Lee factory crimp die and have single digit ES. The powders you have may be more suited to the lighter Hammers, I would definitely check out post 8 of Hammer Hunter Load data thread.

Xs 2 THE 117 gr Hammer would be my choice also , H 4350 , V N560 , H4841 , rl19 , etc may work well .

117's and H4831 perk very well in my ULA 270 with 24" barrel right @ 3300

Of the powders you listed, I would start with IMR 4895 and see how that goes. Might not be the fastest but should be decent. I'd lean toward the 117 grain hammer with RL-17, RL-16, or N550.

I am working on load development for the 124 HH in my 10 twist 270. It is the heaviest Hammer recommends for the 10 twist. So far looks very positive, appears to be stable. I am using IMR 4831 right now. This 270 is down on the reload time priority list right now, but will test H4350 also. I have found both to be good 270 powders.
I use the Hodgdon reloading data online for standard calibers and bullets. Their line of powders is fairly extensive across several brand names. They don't have a 117 or 124 bullet selection. I use the 120 for the 124 HHs and work up from max a little if a good node isn't found.

I would try the 117 shock hammers for your range.They have worked well for me.Good luck
