I have an older 1982 tang safety Ruger 270 Win w/ a spanking new Benchmark 25" stainless bbl installed, its glass bedded & free floated. looking for a long range scope to replace my Burris 3-10X 40mm Signature Select.
I'm going to load the new Nosler Accubond LR 150 grain & am hoping to get 2800-3000 fps @ the muzzle.
Want to be able to range & shoot out to 1000 yards with a good chance of a one shot hit. Have the time & place to practice b4 any hunting takes place.
The SWFA 3-15X looks good to me, but @ this point I'm pretty clueless as too what I need.
20-24X on the top end might be a better way to go??
