Good evening all. Way past my bedtime and already took my sleep pill to help keep my CPAC on.
Have a very good person that chambers barrels and does competitive long distance shooting.
He got the opportunity to shoot/reload the 277 Fury with Hybrid Cases.
I personally think that it will be one hell of a cartridge. I love all my 6.5s but going to a 6.8 X51 which is almost the same as the .260 or .308 and fits in between them and can also take 80K pressure. WOW what a cartridge. I think that there is issues with full auto in Squad rifles but that can be worked out.
A lot bigger that the 5.56 and about the same as the 7.62X51. Time will tell. I think that the 6.8 is a great caliber.

I talked my friend and neighbor into getting a Palmento AR in 6.8 SPC II. He wanted to get a 300 BO.. He didn't like it and bought a 300 BO with a Brace. The store was giving them away because of Brandons ruling. Now he is stuck with it going back AND FORTH ON REGESTERING IT AND HAVE TO GET A SBR
I am going to build on an AR platform at some point. I love the 6.5 but in larger cases. This 6.8 SPC II is just the ticket for some more power beyond the .223 in an AR for Yote and hog hunting.

Have two .223 fior AR Uppers that shoot 1K

We have a dozen high end comp rifles and a dozen high end Hunting rifles that a barely ever shot. Cleaned every month or so and coated with G-96.

I keep buying barrels along with Reamers and all the rest of the components to go with.
Our Business model is just to do Custom Chambering for Competitors and then one off for the serious hunter we would do a Custom Chamber by his Reamer or get one from JGS. We have a State of the ART Facility with lathes, mills, saws, drill presses. On the Cerakote side we have A GLOBAL FINISHING BOOTH SYSTEM backing it up we just purchased Light Armor Digital Controlled CERAKOTE OVEN with that we also have a Quincy "54" Air Compressor with 5 HP with four cylinders and a two stage system. BEST in the Industry. We also have mechanical and electronic Air Dryers to prevent an moisture getting air lines to the paint . Along with that are enclosed Media Blasting stations and cleaning stations. We are getting a new 50 Watt Fiber Laser Engraver to put our LOGO on firearms and also do Custom Engraving on firearms, We are going to have the most modern and BEST Small Shop for Custom Rifles PERIOD in the South East.

I hope that the Military works it out. Don't want to see Creeds taking over the Army well maybe the Coast Guard or Air Force.
I hope that the SIG Brass is sold with the "Hybrid" SS & Brass Case in order to get 80K psi.
The Marines are usually the last to get anything used or new. Just heard that the last generation of the 1911A1 will be phased out. The Marines are the last to use the 1911 variant with a .45 cartridge. There will still be versions of the .45 for special SEAL Teams and USMC Teams.
We have a lot o new items to sell the next few days. I would buy three of everything, one for jill, one for bill Jill.s dad and one for me. well Bill has never hunted since the last time i took him out. So all of his items are basically NIB. Will post tomorrow.
Thanks Len & Jill

For the past few years we have had the pleasure to host and be hosted by the Army Research Lab and have shot the 6.8x51 for testing (along with the weapon systems). This has been in the hybrid high pressure case, regular brass case, hybrid polymer case, and full polymer encased cases. It is a step up in performance over the 7.62x51mm ammunition that we utilize. I would caution others not to use the high pressure cease in their rifles. At least that is what Sig and the ARL say. If you do, expect lug setback and such. That and the cases were not designed to be sized.

In addition, the typical oversized firing pin holes do not lend themselves to lots of firing. I am not looking forward to bush the bolt face, drill/ream new hole and turn down the firing. But, not about to pay for the machine work.

Brass labeled 6.8x51/277fury are for sale, but of course the all brass won't handle 80k. They use 135gr in the 277, but not sure if that's an advantage or hindrance? Even @ 65k for a normal all brass case in 6.8x51 would be awesome, but the 26cal bullets will shoot flatter and faster as for better bc. Still, it would be a great cartridge! Here's my possibilities when using the same weight bullet (150gr) as I have those for 26, 27, 28 and 30cals. All does have different bc's as you know. Is 1 more efficient than the other................most likely.
