I am very close to pulling the trigger on building a 27 nosler. I would be building it with the new Berger 170 hybrids in mind. (I just think this would be such a sweet long range hunting rifle). I have a gun that all I need to do is re-barrel, I found a 1-9 twist .277 barrel, the 170s call for a 1-8.3 twist. However, at my elevation (>5000ft) bergers twist rate calculator shows them as plenty stable with a 1-9.

I'm just curious has anyone else ventured out and built a 27 nosler? If so, do you have any advice in doing the build. Im curious what powders people have tried. I'm also curious when making the cases would I be better off to neck up 26 nosler brass or neck down 28 nosler brass?

Cheers!
