260 to 6.5-284 - is it worth it???

Great debate going on her guys, and i think i have decided to stick with the 260. I have never really purchased high end brass and most of my rifles i get once fired stuff. I have a heap of 243 brass i sized up to 260. I will be shooting 139 and 140 berger, and not in competition. More to improve my skills and show myself i am capable of decent accuracy at 1k eventually.
Do you really think a 260 AI would be worth it for a amateur long range shooter over a 260?
And will the brass make that much of a difference?

Well if you are going to get serious about long range shooting its the little things that matter. High quality uniform brass will definitely help things. A standard 260 with a good 140gr bullet will reach 1000 easily. The ackley will do it a little easier but the 260 does just fine for what you are describing.
