Anyone try any of the bergers in the 25-06?What kind of powder and loads did you use?How did they shoot for you?

I'm shooting 115 hunting vld's with retumbo and getting good accuracy and over 3250fps with no signs of pressure.

I have been shooting 100gSierra BT with IMR4350 and getting1/2 inch or better at 100 yards, but when I try and go 300 0r longer they really spread out. That's why I wanted to go a little heavier with the Bergers. How did yours do farther out?

I loaded 115 Bergers with H4831SC, Federal 210M primers in Hornady brass. Shoots 1/3 MOA at 100 and killed a javelina at 500+. His rifle is a heavy barrel tang safety Ruger 77.

I also shoot a 25-06AI. 115 Berger, federal 210's, And H1000. 3360 fps out of a 26" Krieger. I tried the 7828 and got REALLY FAST speeds. But it was not consistent and did not shoot as well as the H1000. I also had over pressure problems with the 7828 when the rounds were kept warm.

Did you buy the gun being 25-06AI or did you have it done later. If you had it done how much speed did you gain?

I built the gun from scratch, using a Sendero SF .25-06 barrel, that I had rechambered to .25-06 AI. I never shot the gun before as a regular .25-06, so I can't help with that.

I do know that I am matching, or faster, than my .257 Wby Mag loads (which is 3,300+), using 10 less grains of powder. If that gives you an idea.

To me, it's worth the extra headache, but to get true full-length .25-06 AI brass you will have to resize .270 Win brass, then trim the brass to 2.514", then fire-form. And once the brass shrinks .020" from expansion, you end up with 2.494" brass, which is perfect and SAAMI spec length.
