25-06 and 90gain Absolute hammers

I did Varget last year. Got around 3585fps out of my Browning Xbolt. Took two deer with that. This year I worked up a hasty load with Imr7828sc. It's running at 3650. Hope to shoot a deer in the next few days with it. I tried IMR4451 it seemed to pressure out about the same as Varget velocity wise for me. I see the local Scheels has Staball in stock. I am curious about trying it after seeing the results in the load data post.
I crimp mine. Seems to help accuracy. After hunting season I'm going to try some loads with standard primers instead of the magnums I've been using.
Friends don't let friends use Staball

This is interesting! I have never used Hammer bullets but have heard good things about them. I would suggest RL 19 if you can get it. I use that with my 85 grain ballistic tips at 3600+ in my Tikka 25-05. I might get some of those 90 grain hammers to try.

Just for info , I tried H4350 in my 25-284 , then Rl19 and jack pot , max vel was 3874 fps with a 3860 ave of 4 shots , it seemed right on the raged edge so I back it down too 3800 fps . Lapua 6.5. -284 brass primer pockets still tight load worked up in the 90s .

That was the Hammer 90 gr absolute there was some load data for the 25-284 in a old Speer manual best vel shown back in the day was IMR 4831 . Some pretty impressive vel with the 25-284 and and 90 gr class bullets the 90 gr Hammer is running 150 too 200 fps faster.

Its good stuff but it spikes to fast for me, you go from all is well to a blown primer within a half grain
I've had that issue with multiple powders with the Absolutes. That's why I was wondering if it would mellow out a little if I used a standard primer instead of a magnum.
