240 Weatherby

Are any of you fellas playing with a 240 Weatherby ?
I picked up a mint S2 Vanguard in a swap today and am anxious to start loading for it.
Load data seems plentiful but it would be nice to hear of some pet loads that guys are happy with.
Any info gratefully accepted and appreciated.

I had one built on a Sako action.

I tried RL26 and Norma MRP, RL26 generally produced another 80-100 fps. Same accuracy.

Sierra 85 hp, F210M, 58gr R26, Coal 3.10", 3640 fps.
Hornady 105 Amax, F210M, Coal 3.18".
55.5gr R26, 3401
56gr R26, 3427

That last load was kinda warm, so don't start there. It's a 26" 8" twist Brux. I think that 85 Sierra load will awesome on coyotes....good luck, mine was easy to load for, no really bad loads.

Case shoulder cave in - The Firing Line Forums

The Collapsed Shoulder is in an old Speer manual. Light loads & slow powder are the cause. Use a faster burn rate of powder. Pressure is low & neck not expanding to seal. Make sure the bullets have enough neck tension. The expander should be .002" smaller than bullet diameter. This will keep the bullet from moving when the primer fires.
