22-250 Bullet tumble?

I just purchased a new 22-250 and went to sight in the scope today. I shot 17 rounds through it and all the bullets went sidways through the target at 25 yards and 100 yards. Every shot shows the same oblong imprint. I took the rifle back and the dealer is sending it to the manufacturer. Does anyone know why this would happen? The gun shop owner said he has never seen anything like this. I was all excited to start Coyote hunting this week and now I guess I'll be using the old standby 243.

+1 heavier 22cal bullets and a slow twist 22-250 = just what you saw. If you tell us the make and model of the rifle, and weight of the bullets it may explain your results
