Have a 22-250 AI. 7:1 twist
Tried 35.5gr H4350 with 88gr ELDM getting3100 ft/sec and blowing up bullet
Want to back down to 2750ft/sec to meet Hornady max.
Should I stay with H4350 or possible going to a faster powder like Varget?

I don't believe your pushing them too hard either I've shot 40gr v-max at blazing speeds out of a 9 twist 22-250 and they didn't come apart. I'm on the same page as Dmagna, I think you might have a bad batch of bullets.

Tried Berger 90gr, Sierra 90 and 95gr, all had failures. Contacted Hornady and said 88gr ELD in a 7:1 twist are only good for 2750 ft/sec. Emailed Sierra and Berger and did not get a reply.

Lab Radar. Tried Hammers, and had an extreme high pressure event. Shot 18 rounds with no problem. Round 19 had a donut that I felt when seating the bullet. Shot as its easier then unloading. Think the donut lined up with a groove and held the bullet too long causing the high pressure event. So no mono for me.

22 creed. 75 eldm at 3500fps with 41 h 4350. 7.7 twist. That's 327,272 RPM. Works perfect. Holds together out to 1300 farthest I've shot.

I'm running the 88gr ELD-M in a 220 Thunderbolt at anywhere between 3000 and 3200fps. No issues with bullets holding together and great accuracy between 3100 and 3150fps with several different powders (varget, RL15, PP2000).

Could be a bad lot of bullets - I'd contact Hornady.
Maybe have someone take a look at the barrel with a borescope.
