215gr Berger Hybrids

I've had good luck with .015" in one .300 win mag and just loading mag length (3.600") in another .300 win mag. They don't seem to be to sensitive to seating depth.

They are jump sensitive like any other bullet. But some people call 3/4 moa accurate. I have seen them all shoot -.025-.035 off. Mostly .030

Like Rhovee said they are jump sensitive, but also believe that they are more tolerant than most. Have a 300 wsm loaded .020 off and it shoots right in that 1/2 inch mark depending on the day. Have a 300 wm loaded 3 rounds each at .020, .030., and .040. shot the.020 first, they were just little over 1/2 inch, then the .030 right at 1/2 inch, then the .040, the first 2 were almost same hole and the 3rd was touching. Both rifles consistently shoot these loads the same day after day. Difference is I only loaded one round at .020 for the 300wsm and was so happy with the results and the fact that they were repeatable and shot well at distance I never tried any thing else. So like Rhovee advised I have probably left some accuracy on the table with the wsm.

I will say, adjusting seating depth incrementally by 3 thousandths is the way to go. Larger spacing can let you skip right over where the accuracy is. I suggest starting 14-15 thou off, and basically load 3 rounds in 0.003" incriments till you get to 45-50 thou off the lands. I guarantee you'll find a place where it likes to be. Attached is an image of one my seating tests. I had 2 more groups to shoot that we further off but didn't, as I found where the bullet liked to be. Now that I found seating depth, I will load 3 rounds 1.5, 1, 0.5 gr below, ans 0.5, 1, 1.5gr above and see where it's the tightest grouping. Serval of these groups were 1/2 moa or less @ 200y. 338 rum, N570, 300 bergers @ 2890fps.

Elkeater, I have a .300 WM Xbolt and my magazine is also limited to 3.6". I have had very good results with the Berger 210 HVLD in my gun loaded to 3.563 COAL, with a BTO of 2.886." However, yesterday I shot my first 215 Hybrid loads and am not sure those are in the ballpark. Started at 74.0 grains H1000 with a COAL of 3.571 (.129" off the lands) (BTO 2.793".) 74.5 gave best group, .52 MOA, with a velocity of 2850 f/s. 75.0g H1000 gave me a velocity of 2830 f/s for .78 MOA. For comparison, I would appreciate it if you would share with me your load data for your 215 Berger for a 3.60" COAL.

Thank you

Magnett

My Milspec 700 in 300WM is at . 050" off the lands with.25-.5MOA five shot groups. I found the 215's to be insensitive to seating depth between .020" and .070" off the lands in this rifle.
