208 gr Amax and 210 Berger load in 300Win Mag

I did not have good luck with AA Mag-Pro. IMR7828ssc, H1000, h4831sc would be my absolute top 3, with H1000 being my first and foremost go-to powder. Use Win LR primers and Win Brass and you are gtg. You could also use Fed 215m primers I suppose, but I would only contemplate them if you are planning to go shooting in the interior of Alaska in winter or something. The Win LR primers are a fairly hot primer, thus they generally work quite well in the "Lesser" magnums like the 300wm. If you are not using over 90gr powder, the Win LR should be more than adequate.

Have a good one

Here's my most accurate hunting load with the 300WM in a Savage 112 BVSS

WW case
CCI 250
Nosler Accubond 200gr
80.5gr H1000
OAL 3.507"
1/2 MOA to 500 yds (3 shots from cold barrel)
2935fps

Thanks, Moose. What length barrel?

Any other loads for 210 Berger, 208 Amax, or 200 Accubond?

Thanks, all.

Paul

If I were you I'd seat the Bergers on the lands and the A-maxs .010" off and try 66-68 grains Imr 4350 or 68-70 grains Imr 4831 use fed 210 or cci BR2s as mentioned unless its in the teens or lower outside. Either will put you over 2900 in a 28" barrel.

Rock,

I have not received the rifle yet from the smith. I am trying to find some suggestions of where to start. I will be using it for hunting elk primarily, in Montana. I'm eager to have the best combo of accuracy and terminal performance at near and long range. I am considering a 210 gr Berger, a Amax 208gr, or a 200 gr Accubond. I'm looking for suggestions. Thanks.

Paul
