I've been dealing with L5-S1 issues and spinal stenosis, also trying to avoid fusion because of bad experiences I've heard of, but I'd also like to be able to walk distances without issues. As it is, my days of walking 10 miles in the mountains with a pack and rifle are over, but I'd like to get them back. I'm 65, about to retire for real, and want to spend as much time hunting, fishing, hiking, camping, golfing, etc., all things that I'm seriously limited on now. I can't go on an elk or deer hunt in the mountains, can't hike to a hidden lake to camp and fish. I have been exercising and stretching and it's better but a 2.5 mile walk at a slow pace is my limit.
I look forward to hearing about your progress.
