Best 7 PRC Bullet?

I am a big Nosler Fan. I have used Accubonds and Silvertips and Ballistic Tips on Various Cartridges and loads. My go to hunting rifle right now is a 28 Nosler. I shoot the 175 Accubond Long Range. I've killed Deer at a longest shot of 900 yards. And then I've shot animals as close as 120 yards with these loads as well. All with devastating performance. I've recovered a few leads from elk and a bear I shot years ago. All of which the bullet holds to what is advertised. They are accurate and worth every penny IMO.

Lets say that you even have a slow round, a measly 2000 feet per second, how can you see it, much less tell what its doing.
I have been around shooters and tried to see their bullets in flight, and no way, despite my good vision.
Or do you just say that you saw it, but really didn't?

I've been asking my boss and coworkers here who all shoot, and they say it is impossible to see a bullet come apart in flight, unless using special high speed cameras, but no way with the naked eye.

You can tell by looking at your target. Someone posted a picture in this thread that shows one that came apart on target.

You can see a bullet in flight if you stand above and behind a shooter.

Now thats a combo that can and will do anything you want it to do
 
I'm hoping for some success with the 180eldm this year. My rifle seems to prefer them over the Bergers. Lot of good experience on this thread though and I may have to give the Bergers one more shot.

I have been able to spot bullets in flight thru a spotting scope when shooting at 400 yds with my brother. Sun angle was such that I could see the bullets last few yards, perhaps 50yds or so, of flight before they impacted the target. This happened on two occasions now. Was very helpful in determining scope fine tuning adjustments. Two guns we were shooting were a 300 RUM and a 6mm ARC.
 
I've tried several different powders and bullets with my 7 PRC, and Berger is consistently giving me the best groups. Nosler LR Accubond is probably the next best. StaBall HD didn't do awesome in my rifle, I've had the best SD's and ES's with H1000 and Retumbo. 1/4 MOA groups consistently with Berger 175 Elite Hunters and 195 EOL's.
 
What do you plan to hunt with it and how far? I've killed a few dozen elk with 160 grain Accubonds at normal hunting ranges, out to say 500 yards. I've been very impressed with the 180 grain Berger HVLD's. Took one elk with this bullet at 1098 yards and it mushroomed nicely. Bull staggered down the hill maybe 50 yards. I killed dozens of marmots with the 180's at far as 1402 yards. Even on this small targets they were devastating to ~800 years and still got a little expansion on the really long ones.

Fired at 2997 fps MV in a 7 mag.

I'm in Idaho, so all of the usual game prospects like deer, elk, antelope, moose, bear, etc.... the range will depend on what I can get locked in for loads and what energy I can yield with any given load. Haven't done all the calculations yet, but one more test run at the range with my couple of winner loads, I'll run the numbers and see what I have for energy before setting my max distance.

They have performed flawlessly for me as well. I am not the guy who gets to kill hundreds of animals every year but I kill my fair share and the 7LRM with the 180 Hybrid's just over 3000 FPS have been great on everything from Antelope, Elk and Mule Deer in the states to Gemsbok, Blesbuck and lots of Warthogs in South Africa. From 200-900 its been dead right there. I am a very picky shooter when it comes to shot placement so I don't take an bad shot placement angles. Its either broadside or a quartering away shot for me of I don't pull the trigger. I think that is where a lot of hunters run into issues and start blaming bullets. They take a marginal shot angle, interject human error, mother nature, heavy bone and the bullet does not hit its mark and then the bullet is crap and should never be used again. If you do your part, follow the manufacturers minimum velocity guidelines for impact velocities and place the bullet in the vitals most of the bullets out there now will do the trick. Find the bullet that shoots best in your rifle and give it a try. If the results are not what you expected and you have done your due diligence there are lots of quality bullets out there to try. Good luck and remember this is JMO based on my experience.
