This is pure opinion and not proven. I'm not saying it's not a good brake but to say it's the absolute best is your opinion and nothing more unless you have specific proof of it. There are so many brakes out there now that there is really no way to prove this unless you want to spend 20+K testing tons of brakes. I know I've spent a lot of time and money testing numerous of the best brakes out there on multiple calibers. Most brakes that claim incredible recoil reduction numbers, like 80% recoil reduction, is pure BS.

Yes, my CVA Accura drops like a rock past 200 yards. I have no need for the violent recoil nor the extreme distance. I'll use a centerfire for that stuff. Longest shot here in Michigan in the woods is maybe 130 yards and with me, it's a change up between the CVA and my 460 Smith wheelgun, both do about the same distance. The Smith is more fun though and has 4 more where the first one came from.

Opinion? Ok, I'll buy that.

However, this video shows the brake on an Ultimate. Ultimate rifles shoot 180grs of T7 and 300gr bullets at 2,300fps. The recoil from these rifles without a brake is VIOLENT.
Do the math in your recoil calculator.

There is zero weight on this sled. I'd say the T-Rex controls the recoil pretty darn well. Much better than most other brakes I've used and certainly controls more recoil than any radial

I could post a video from a customer of mine shooting a 416 muzzleloader with 130grs of BH209 and a 340gr Cutting Edge bullet going 2600+fps too. Or I could load up some rounds for my 460 Weatherby with 300's going 3200fps and do a video. Videos like that don't prove any kind of effectiveness compared to other brakes. It helps push an opinion and nothing more. I've seen plenty of videos like that from all kinds of people that sell brakes, even vendors on here, to try and sell their products. In reality when you compare them side by side to other brakes on something that can be measured most of them just can't hang with the best brakes on the market. Also I will tell you a 4 port, at the 100+gr powder charges used in many of the muzzleloaders, will give up performance to a 5 port. I've proven that many times on calibers that use even less powder. The problem with so many companies making brakes is they don't fully test them except to just shoot them and say "that one feels better".

I have a .45 cal muzzleloader built on a single shot Remington with a Brux barrel in a Game Scout stock. I also have a .416 Rem, .458 Lott in addition to the .460 Weatherby so I'm fairly well versed in big calibers. I've shot quite a few bears and elk with those bigger calibers and yes they do kick with crappy or no brakes.

As a brake manufacturer, I understand you disliking it when someone says another brake is, in their opinion, the best. I beg to differ though, that others that make brakes, fail to test them. That's a marketing sales pitch.
I haven't called your baby ugly, nor have I even mentioned your brakes in any way. I didn't even know you were a brake manufacturer/vendor/sponsor until I read your signature.

The T-Rex is an excellent brake and many shooters are using it on both substitute and SML rifles. Muzzleloaders shooting 3,200fps with 325gr bullets.
Some of the TOP custom muzzleloader builders use that brake on their own personal rifles. Now if they're using that brake themselves, then there's something to be said for the brake.

Just to make something clear, I don't sell brakes, nor do I manufacture brakes and I'm not a vendor.
However if I have a great year, I can send up to 2,000 muzzleloader rounds a year, utilizing charges as low as 84/120 of BH that is a maximum allowed for competition and must be shot without a brake, and up to 2,900fps with SML.

As for BH, it has no where near the pressure spike that T7 has. BH is mild to shoot compared equal amounts compared to T7.

So, to the original post asking about the smoke being pushed outward, I can confirm that with the proper brake it is possible to see the target after the shot. This is my wife shooting my 450 bushmaster with a homemade black powder cartridge. The rifle is a ruger american ranch with the ruger brake. You can clearly see the smoke being pushed out of her line of sight. If you plan to shoot at a public range, I would steer away from this. However if it is used purely for hunting, the deer won't care after the shot anyway.

I have a Rem 700 UML which has been converted to a 45 cal Brux barrel so I can shoot 300 gr Black Max bullets. Getting 2550 fps. The LR Custom brake allows me to free recoil the rifle when I shoot it.....over and over and over.....with any hesitation!

Shooters really have no idea how well built and tested the LR Customs brakes are and how well they function.
