I haven't posted in the Varmit section before but I've been lurking. Thought I'd take the plunge and post a few pics. Nothing special here, but I've learned to shoot them very accurately.
Sorry for the low quality photo, didn't realize the gun would be in the shadow.
This is a 418 yard groundhog (VA) shot with my Encore 25-06 topped with a 6-18 Leupold. This gun shoots ragged holes with both 75gr VMAX's and 100 BT's. This groundhog was shot with a 100gr BT. Bang...POP...red mist! The past few groundhogs I shot with the 75's had only entrance holes. Bullet turns insides to mush with just a few drops of blood trickling from entrance.
I also carry this .221 Fireball contender mounted with 2-8 weaver pushing 55gr VMAX 2550fps. This gun prints 3/8" @100 on a regular basis. This is for "when the situation presents itself, smack it with the fireball". This groundhog wasn't the biggest, making it a challenge for a 10" barrel. Rangefinder displayed 184 yards. Bullet had slowed down a bit so it wasn't very explosive, but it landed where I wanted!
Haven't shot the fireball lately but I did fire 16 rounds through the 357 Herrett this evening in 20-30mph winds to see its "wind-bucking" abilities at 200. Love shooting the T/C's!

Nice job Eastcoatshooter. I've got an Encore Muzzle loader that is a shooter. I have hesitated to buy other barrels for it, because I have heard some negative things about T/C's accuracy? I see that they may be false reports, by looking at your 25-06!! That's what I would call, "putting a BIG smack down" on a ground hog!!

Jayrock. That is a nice Black Gun. Looks similar to my Stag. I just wish mine had a fluted 24" Bull barrel, to lighten it up a bit. My Stag is a tack driver though. Where are you located? Looks like some good Coyote Country!
I am located in western Colorado, 75 miles north of the I-70 corridor, in a town called Rangely. This is prime everything country. From Trophy Elk, Mule deer, and antelope, to all the small game you could want. The coyotes around here are well fed, so you have to really work to get one to come to a call. And if you do, they will not come much closer than 300yds or a little less. No matter. I smoke em out to 600 easily with this rifle. Shoots 75gr hpbt as well as my .308 shoots 168smk's

I have a family friend that is just south of Wray CO. Right by the Nebraska and Kansas State lines. He invited me out there to hunt on his land. He said that they have everything but Elk? Lots of White Tails and Mule Deer, Antelope, and Predators. I have yet to take him up on it, but I should! The Colorado Fish and Wildlife web site is so confusing, that I could not figure out if I could buy deer tags for his land only? The Coyote/fur harvester tag is pricey for out of staters too? I though I'd just Coyote hunt in Nebraska on the way to his place, and then on the way home?

That is flat land mostly over there. You can usually get private land tags fairly easy, just need to know what unit he is in. Colorado has a significant Elk herd. And yes, out of state anything here is insanely expensive.
