Is anybody shooting heavy bullets in their .257 Weatherby or a .257 prc?
I was wondering what bullets , powder and load they had the best luck with.
Also what kind of accuracy they were getting.

Thank you
Hal

128gr hammer hunter in a 1:7 twist are .5moa over H1000. This is a heavy dose and was 3340fps. The group below is at 500 yards.

The group next to it is 135gr Berger at 3150fps. It was a starting load that I haven't finished working up yet.

Wow Hoss that rifle is a shooter. Tell us a little more about your rifle.

Hal
It is a Weatherby Vanguard that I had redone after I shot out the original barrel.

B&C stock fitted and bedded by Axisworks
Stock Weatherby Vanguard action
Timney trigger
Oregon Mountain Rifles shouldered barrel
26" carbon wrapped
ORM self timing brake
Burris Veracity 3x15x50
Seekins rings
EGW Rail

My 257 needs a new barrel or I order a 257 barrel for a different rifle. But have been considering a faster twist. I don't have a need to shoot heavies in the caliber but I think I have a want
I am a heavy-for-caliber type of hunter. In addition to the 145 BH, I also have 131 BJ, 133/135 Berger, and 134 ELD-M.
