Considering a Tikka

Alright give me the Good, Bad, and Ugly. I'm considering a Tikka. Specifically a laminated stainless in 7mm Remington magnum.
I got a lil experience loading for a friend with the exact same gun. However, I have never owned one. I've shot his about 20 times. His is stupid accurate with 162 Eldx over H1000. He wouldn't sale me his, so I'm thinking of one. Anything to be mindful of or just do it?

No personal experience, but I've yet to hear a negative on a tikka to this point and I've toyed with the idea of picking one up myself!

love them, I built a comp/field match rifle off one and liked it so much I sold my custom 700 and built another tikka for hunting.

Sold a ton of stuff and tikkas stayed/multiplied

Pros for me:

1. Extremely resistant to binding.. almost impossible, even when pushing sideways on the handle
2. Good factory triggers that are drop safe and reliable in harsh conditions
3. Recoil lug in action for scope mounts/rails
4. One action size means easy cartridge swaps when ever you want
5. Can order shouldered prefits/headspace from factory is usually tight enough to use any tikka shouldered barrel (super cheap extra 7mag barrels around)
6. Good reliable and affordable magazine system
7. 70* bolt throw doesn't have you worried about ocular bells hitting handles or knuckles

Only downside I've seen is they tend to be slower barrels if Chasing velocity is your thing BUT they are very accurate factory rifles

I love Tikkas but a downside is their customer service is terrible since Beretta acquired them.

Not really a velocity chaser but if it'll shoot like my buddies I'll be happy. I have not chrono his rifle with the load, or taken it past 200 yds. The load is 162 eldx with
68 grain H1000 in Hornady brass with a Fed 215. I'm guessing 2900 ish maybe a lil more. Not a good guesser without seeing drops.

I've become quite the tikka fan anymore. Prefit barrels, lots of aftermarket stock options, one of the best triggers out there, can upgrade the trigger spring and make it even better. Lightweight action. And they just flat shoot

+1 for the tiggers on a factory rifle super crips no creep and buy a yo Dave trigger spring and your down to a pound

I really enjoy my tikkas. I really don't have many complaints. Bix and Andy makes awesome triggers manners stocks in a few options. Chassis options. Things I don't care for. More inlets for manners stocks. The bead last/stainless finish is less than stellar. Now none of mine are factory guns all have aftermarket barrels. The plastic shroud on the back of the bolt. Cheap plastic bottom metal. My guns get shot more often than not. Weekly put to at least 1275 if not 1710 yards. Other than that no complaints. They aren't an impact 737 or Kelbly. Or other custom actions but they are nice units my first tikka I used for a semi custom was finished a year ago and I have just shy of 700 rounds down the barrel.

Picked up one in 7mm-08 for my wife 20ish years ago and still as accurate as day one. I finally got one last year, same caliber in a super lite. I kinda like it…..

Threw this load together for the wife's 6.5 creedbro. Only thing I've done is cut barrel to 20" and thread it. Seems like it will shoot
