Graphite Treated Barrel Test (Pics)

I ordered Lock-Eze from Amazon.com.It got here in less than a week.
I just got finished cleaning my 2 rifles I have shot the most recent all the way to bare metal.
Will let it all dry until tomorrow and I'll put the Lock-Eze on a patch and treat the bore and see if it still fouls as bad as it always has.
I shot 3 rounds through the Weatherby Vanguard 300 Weatherby Mag and still took 3 hours to get to bare metal. If it cures this rifle I will be a Lock-Eze follower for the rest of my life or until I have this rifle re-barrelled.

You can speed up your solvent drying process with a few patches of 91% alcohol, or a degreaser like gun scrubber.

They were suggesting 99% IPA because the other percentage is water!!! I went to the local Walgreens but all they had was 70%. I keep the 90% IPA in the medicine cabinet all the time, since hBN is hydrophobic we're prolly OK with the 90%...

I've been using 91% for years now. Just so long as you dry patch out the alcohol or let it sit for 15 min. It's dry as a bone.

I am curious as to what cleaning and copper defouling products others are using and which products that you prefer. I seem to have good results with the Wipeout brand, both the Wipeout and the accelerator used as directed. Anyone have something else that they use and/or recommend that works on the copper. I have a couple of the ammonia based products but the wipeout is what I use most often, mostly due to less smell and fumes in the house.

Wipeout with Accelerator left sit for at least 2hrs. Badly coppered barrels left sit overnight.
A better product with a much better application tube built into the can is shooter's choice foaming cleaner. I won't be buying the wipeout and accelerator again.

Another discovery: Heavy copper fouling seems to take on an immunity to solvent. I notice when I flush the solvent with alcohol and use a bronze brush soaked in alcohol with 10 passes the next treatment of copper solvent works better. I think the copper surface gets raw and roughed up a bit for more solvent to penetrate.

Edited to add: I maintain 3 Savage barrels, so I know copper fouling! :D
