Trying to decide on another build. I love the .284's and can't decide on a RUM or SAUM. Not overly concerned about weight. Will be a deer rifle both in the east and in the west. Opinions wanted.

If you have a 7prc I don't see the point of a 280ai
If 280 AI Peterson is running brass now
I have a 7 Rem Mag, 7 PRC and a 28 nosler. All customs. Just wanting to add to the stable

7/338 Lapua if you're feeling spicy.
I love the 280AI, but the SAUM with 20" barrel suppressed would round out your collection nicely.

I would go with the SAUM, it is super efficient and deserves to be more popular than it is.
Due to circumstances outside my control (work, farm and a disabled child) I can't travel a ton. I go to New Mexico every October for elk and that's about all I can get away with. I can get away to shoot a little and hunt local but that's about it. I enjoy the load development and kitting out a rifle etc.Save your cheddar and put it towards a good hunt or three...........

Between the two my choice would be the RUM. You don't have a short action 284 yet but the 7 Rem and 7 PRC seem very close. The RUM is definitely over powered for a deer rifle but I understand. I just bought a 300 RUM this week so I'm a little biased.Best advice I have seen is go on a hunt instead and have a blast, like dogz said.
