Mass Shootings - Why?

Its the first amendment

"Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances."

Its what is known as the establishment clause. We are a secular nation which means we are officially neutral in matters of religion. There are arguments about it kind of like the whole militia thing in the 2nd amendment. It does not necessarily mean you can't put in god we trust on the dollar bill but it does mean that you can't declare christianity as the national religion and then start creating laws because they are in the Bible. You can put religious quotes on courthouses as long as you let all religions put quotes on those courthouses.
Correct. But the "separation of church and state" gets thrown around for a lot of things that are not applicable.

I agree that school security could be upgraded, I dont see this as a school only problem. Wasnt there also a shooting at a grocery store recently?
It isnt JUST a school issue.
We just had a family of 5 residents and friends of my nephew here in my hometown Tomball Tx , murdered at their ranch Thursday by a Mexican Escaped convict when they arrived for a summer vacation . He had been hiding out there . The Grandfather and his 4 Grandsons , it really hits home I'm sick too my stomach over this , Why.

My condolences.

I've always lived in areas that had a very low crime rate so I never really felt the need to carry. Stories like that have changed my mind.
Since law enforcement cannot possibly be everywhere, we citizens need to be better prepared to take care of ourselves should the need arise.
The problem is, who among us will actually be capable of handling the situation when faced with a situation like that?
We all talk tough, but until we live it there is no telling how one would react.

My condolences.

Yes I've thought about all that , what really upsets me , is the the house next too his ranch had been broken into and had the convicts finger prints but the law enforcement folks did not bother too relay that too the victim . Word is he never would have put his Grandsons into that kind of danger knowing the convict could be that close . We cannot rely on law enforcement for anything , we have too be prepared too protect ourselves and families , we need too think what we may have too do if in a situation like that , and take more precautions , most people think it can't happen too me . This is the world we live in today life has become cheap we have too take measures too secure our loved ones against such evil , and make it as hard as we can for some nut case too have his way. Three weeks ago my wife and I were stopped at a road block 20 miles from where he escaped , the murders happened a half mile from where he escaped . Why do these things keep happening ? Is our law enforcement that incapable or what .

My condolences.

Should never be discussed in public. Can be found and held against you. You can get a really good idea about yourself with force on force training.

The Parkland Shooter made this all too apparent as he had a long history of trouble with the police. He was even reported twice to the FBI.

Read the article in Red State this morning about the mother that was handcuffed, let lose, broke free and rescued her kids. Is even half true, we have some big problems, and Butterbean and others just might bloodhounds seeking the truth. Cant seem to post a link on my phone.
