Currently wanting to "build" a short 20" suppressed 300wsm. Would like to be able to shoot 190-210 gr range of bullets. As of now planning on a 1-9" twist barrel.

My options as of now:

~I have a CA Ridgeline 300 with factory length barrel. Buy new barrel and stock.

~Buy Tikka action, barrel and stock.

~Or something else.

Obviously the Christensen seems like it would be the cheapest as I already have it. But... Thoughts?

Yeah sell that CA and look for a tikka with a magnum bolt face.
I recently picked up a stainless t3 270 wsm for $500 as a donar.
After selling the barrel it cost me $425, another $400 for a McGowan prefit with threaded muzzle, and $50 for a mountain tactical wsm magazine

This is just my opinion, but I recommend building on something you already have or invest in a custom action and not another factory action. I have nothing against Tikkas, but I find it better in the long run to just invest into a custom action rather than another factory action that may need work.

Or sell the CA and buy a Tikka. Either way wouldn't be a bad place to start.

Tikkas don't need work
Which is why they're becoming the most popular factory action for builds

I went the Tikka route for the last rifle I did. Part of the reason I mentioned it first. But there is just something about going with full custom that appeals to me. Just not the $$$

If you need to replace the barrel on the CA, get a 300WSM cut with ample freebore for the bullets you want to shoot.
Tikkas are fine factory actions that may save you some money if you find a cheap donor. When compared to Bighorn origin or Defiance tenacity and the like, the savings isn't a lot. Weigh it out. Tikka is fine, but not better than the customs mentioned.

The other advice I recommend is build it on a long action. The 2 oz you add will not be noticed, the extra length available to seat long bullets is priceless. Don't let anyone convince you that it does't matter. It matters unless you are going to have a SAAMI chamber and shoot factory loads.

Good luck with the build

I will be getting the barrel cut for shooting the bullets I want.

I thought I read somewhere that building the WSM type rounds on a long action incurs feeding issues. Any knowledge of that? Because ideally I would really like to have the length to seat the heavy bullets where it will optimize performance.

What speed are you planning to get out of a 20" 300WSM?
How fast can a 308 shoot that bullet in a 20" barrel with a faster burning powder?
I'd guess the 300WSM is going to lose close to 200fps by going from 26" to 20". You'll get a lot of recoil (Newton's 3rd Law) and be sacrificing a lot of performance.

I think just north of 2800FPS is where I plan to be.

I'm not too concerned with the recoil being an issue. It seems that the suppressor knocks quite a bit of it down in my experience.
