I will be heading to Montanna to pick up a McMillan TAC50 and transporting it back to texas thru several states. NM, CO, WY. Only CO is of concern to me because of its changing politics.
I will be traveling in a station wagon...has no trunk...!!! I will be carruing powder, primers, brass, loaded ammo and the UNLOADED gun. Will any of that be a problem. I cant tell from reading all the online sources.

CA has laws against the 50 cal, do any other states prohibit the 50 Cal or its ammunition?

What part of Montana?
If Western, you might want to head South on I-15 through Idaho and Utah.
Turn East at Hurricane Utah and head to Flagstaff, then get on 40 to Tejas.
No sense in giving any money to a blue state like colorado.

Helena. Will be heading south to Denver then east to Paris TX. Dont have time for detours, we will be covering 4000 miles in 5 days.

I think you might want to check Denver's gun laws. I hear they can be as convoluted as California.

Maybe stay out of Denver?
Well I could be wrong, it's been awhile since I kept up with Denver's gun laws. I just did a search and it seems 50 Cals are okay. A call to the local agency might clear it up. Or yeah divert travel away from Denver. Call me paranoid but I generally stay our of left leaning cities these days. At least whenever possible.

more so out of curiosity than anything and if you won't/don't respond or tell me to pound sand and mind my own business i understand.

but why not just have it shipped?

by the time you calculate your time, gas, food, lodging, and other expenses including FFL fees, you can about crate the dang thing to survive a fall out of an airplane at 35k feet and have it shipped to your FFL

ROAD TRIP !!!
I hope it's something like a Nomad. Modify the body, install a turret and mount it on the roof of the wagon.
When you get pulled over, you can explain to the LEO that it's your two legged varmint gun.
