To answer your question, yessir. 6mm, 6.5, .277 and as soon as I can find some 139s I'll be running them in my 7-08AI.
Many animals taken with them in different cartridges from 30 to 501yrds with no problems at all. Never recovered a bullet as all have been pass through. Not that it matters to me. I'm of the opinion that all to often we scare people off of certain types of bullets because of what one person says about one instance and we take it for gospel. I made it a point to say that I've never recovered a SST because it seems to be the trend these days that we have to put 2 holes through an animal for it to fall over. Again, I don't hold that to be true. My point is you don't have to have an ultra premium bullet to accomplish this either. (Side note, I've never recovered a Berger either). My experience comes from Mule deer/whitetail, feral hogs and coyotes for what they are worth. I'm not saying this is the bullet for Elk or anything larger as I have no experience with these animals (although I wouldn't hesitate to use them on elk either). The OP asked about whitetail out to 500 and that is what I am recommending. The 95s are available where I am at and at a price point that makes them attractive choice for decent BC for down range performance and up close shots as well.
It still amazes me that we were able to bring down any animal 50 years ago with such inferior bullets

I would recommend the 100gr Interlock SP but the really do run out of steam past 300 out of a .243.Not trying to start a fight, but I agree with your comment as to the Hammers being over promoted on here. I'm sure they are a fine bullet (I have no experience), but some times it feels as if we are being force fed.
Take my info for what it is worth, to each there own. To be perfectly honest, no matter what bullet the OP chooses, it will always come down to shot placement.

Blue Collar has INTLK 100gr BTSPs and 100 Partitions, the later is kinda spendy.
They are more explosive for sure. Shot a coyote with one 90 degree broadside 150 yards and blew his leg off and he was fine another 500 yards. After retrieving it the bullet didn't get into his chest cavity and it was dead on the shoulder. Deer is a little bigger. I quite them and went with the 95 Berger's because of my twist in my Remington. 105's tumbled after 200 yards or so. 95's I know I'm good at 650 yards. Targeted out to there. I've shot at least 8 deer with the vld's and boo coos of hogs. 95% drop. Some of just a little bit. But never had one blown up like the sst. I would think the sst would be a little more at home past 400.
I have a opened box of 100 grain game changers that has 80+ left if you want them?

SST's are similar in performance to a Berger. Light and fast will blow up. But heavier at magnum speeds are awesome.
Example the 139gr on the 7mm-08 works great up close to 500 yds. Love this bullet in this cartridge.
In a 7mm Rem Mag the 162gr is a deer and elk stomper, however I would not try the 139gr in a 7mm Rem Mag, fragmentation on impact guaranteed.
Just like in the 270 Win the 150gr SST performs great vs the 130gr that can blow up in close shots.

I'm shooting the 100gr Hornady Interlocks also in my .243 with H1000. Very happy with hunting accuracy and performance. I'm in the SE part of the country hunting white tails and hogs. Most of my shots are under 200 yards so can't vouch for long shots. Good luck!
I've shot a truck load of Interlocks. They work. Many years ago I gave my dad a Model 70 (push feed) in 6.5x55. He wore out the first three inches of the lands with 129gr Interlocks and shot a whole bunch of whitetails with that rig. I have the rifle now. In a safe place.
I have had really good luck with 105 vld hunting out of my 6 BR. If you are not hunting with them and are willing to jam them .010 I would start there for seating depth. Otherwise start jumping them .010. Should be able to group them .5 MOA or better without too much effort.
Sciroccos would be awesome for hunting. Not cheap but should be good. The 180s shoot amazing out of my 22" 300 WSM with 1-8 twist. Working up to pressure they grouped 1.8" over 8 grains with a 4 grain difference grouping sun MOA at 100 yards. Tried the same thing in my 300 PRC with much different outcome, but haven't tried to group 3 of the same charge yet out of that gun. But if you are looking to shoot big game, scirocco is a great choice.

Actually they are not unreasonable since they come in a box of 100. Priced similar to Nosler that is boxed in 50's for a lot of cartridges. With 6MM they are pricey but they are accurate and have excellent track record for terminal performance.
You pay for performance is no different than for them.
