'ja ever think there would come a day

That's funny because with the trade conflict over wood tariffs with the USA and that most wood products come from Canada and from the BC area I would think folks your area would be flooded with wood and low prices. Just goes to show you, you cannot believe the press.

Believe the press? When ever? Story mongers and if the haven't heard a good rumour by NOON...THEY START ONE!

A lot of wood is sitting close to the border, just sitting in N. Washington.
A friend, (engineering in construction), looked for me. I asked him where the wood was, and if it would be inexpensive enough for me to rent a trailer and take a road trip.

Guess the price needs to increase by the "shortage" before they will ship.
Or, hopefully they are waiting for the board foot price to drop. They don't really want to hang us out to dry.

What's the price of 2x4 where you are? 8.29 each here in Alberta...4x8 construction grade 1/2" plywood.... yesterday 68.95! So all things being considered...a sleeve of primers not two is still a good trade for plywood ☹️
Certainly glad I don't have any carpenter projects this summer. The high prices should bring the pulpwood & saw bolt markets up. Good for loggers and those government selling timber stumpage. Silver lining in every cloud.

Kinda makes me wish I had built about a thousand deer blinds back when I could build a 4x8 blind for less than $200.00. And It was kinda fun, too.

A sense of humor keeps us all going but the issues are serious.. We all need to stop talking about it and start doing something. STOP supporting all of this ludicrous gouging! Supply and demand if we figure out how it works😜 THEY will figure out reasonable prices! If a sheet of plywood is 4 times normal can I raise my price to 4 times ??

Our creator's greatest gift is free will.
That means no interference.

When we screw it all up for humankind, it will be OUR doing. Our result..
Man has been screwing it up from day one... well actually a little bit later than that, but I'm seeking His will, not mine. All of this was foretold. And I suspect that if John would have continued to write all that he saw, somehow this day, this virus, this mess would have been written about. I'm not bothered by it all. I know it's all going to get worse. I know it's going to appear that the dark side is winning... then... Trumpets!

Sorry MNbogboy I'm a logger n we keep hearing that "we are overproducing the demand" and they keep dropping our prices so that many of us are going broke because the price we are getting to log is the same as it was 20 years ago so it is very difficult to stay in business with everything else being 2 and 3 times higher than it was back then and so the moral of the story is the guys in the middle are making millions while the end user is getting fleeced and the producer going broke and I'm getting tired n my boys are finding other jobs because until something changes the future doesn't look good for the logger

Some of us have to do just that to be able to survive....plumbers here have....140.00/hr billing rate for the larger companies....my HVAC buddy is 125.00.... With all the unemployment thanks to Covid...seems everything is going up inspite of some of our major losses.... companies and people are trying to recover what they lost in the past 16 months in one week or so it seems!
